Sweden 1952. Elina is nine years old and lives with
her mother and two younger siblings in a village in northern
Sweden. She misses her dead father. When Elina comes back
to school after a long illness she gets into a fight with
the strict teacher when she defends another pupil. This
epic drama about a teachers unjustified behaviour
and the solidarity among children is based on a novel
by Kerstin Johansson i Backe. Director Klaus Härö
(born in Finland 1971) made his feature film debut with
this film for which he received the Ingmar Bergman Award
in 2003. Elina Som om jag inte fanns. Sweden 2002.
